Concept:

Basilisks are known in the milky way as an evil and conquering race who take slaves. A little known offshoot of them exist known as the Ascended, who are descended from the Baselisk princess who supposedly left with their wardancer goddess. This offshoot is known for being extremely different from the usual milky-way baselisk.

The Ascended are the decedents of that princess and the wardancer who now live in the void on a waystation planet. They have extended contact with wardancers and have had successive generations bred with wardancers. They live an unusual life and are very different from normal Baselisks in that they are seemingly devoted to the wadancers who wander the void.

It is clear on the Ascended's culture in that they fully embrace the wardancer's ways, even down to their attire and weaponry. While usual basilisks like war and slavery, the Ascended love the wardancer's culture of art, dance, music, leadership and martial arts... as well as (curiously) a love to serve the wardancers.

Though a curious effect of having so many generations mated to wardancers results in them having a lot more femminine features than usual basilisks (even the males) and even the females differ from normal basilesks by having more of a bulge in the chest.... and also having a disproportionately large female population (due to a strange effect that wardancer kids have a very strong tendency of being female for some unknown reason)

The Ascended do field a sizable and well trained all-female army, This is one of their soldiers with only her weapon, a modified wardancer longbow which in itself fires powerful armor-piercing bolts. The usually carry wrist mounted personal shields and often other weaponry but wear little in terms of clothing.
