Tyranid Ravener by Snowfyre Tyranid Ravener by Snowfyre
I'm actually really proud of this one. it's quite an achievement for me :D

Total time bout 1 week (spread over two cause was also painting a tyrant)

Techniques: Experimental wet blending on carapace and claws.

Upgrading my painting skill again. :D

God dammit this thing took so long to paint. If anyone was wondering why I had not posted anything decent for a while, this is the reason. :D

Now I really don't know why I am painting this one just to give it away to my friend Ivan who's going home to Indonesia. It's his model and so yes.... I have no idea why I'm giving it away after all that effort.

kinda feel sad.
So in a way, this post is my way of remembering this model as I'm unlikely to see it again T___T

Yes it has no base cause he has big plans for it.

Damn, that's glorious! The carapace and claws came out awesome. I'm not great with my colour theory terminology, but that's some mighty fine colour harmony you've got going on there.

yep. the wet blending techniques. Pretty interesting results in the end.

Technically leviathan fleet colours is purple. but I'd not got enough purple paints and also think blue is nicer.

I played with oil paints for a while, they blend great, but take forever to dry! (I used them to make auto glass in HO scale cars...)

I have a Gant with a Devourer and a Warrior with Scything Talons and a Deathspitter painted. I imagine it has to do with all the detail and the extra limbs.
