As those watching me long enough to know my birthday's in October

so as tradition, anyone who I watch who gives me an artwork/story would get an artwork of equivalent level in return on their birthday as per my usual birthday trades.

Those who i don't watch but wish to join can ask in a comment here

yes I used to have it for all comers but there were people who eventually wen to abuse the system so I had to set some restrictions and control over who joins.

Me? well super tiring for some reason.

Well, didn't update immediately after my birthday on the 19th cause was way too busy for the week

So a quick update, my birthday's over, I feel old and stuff.

how did my birthday go? in short: Largely going outdoors to buy stuff, had a lunch, ate at home with a homemade beef wellington to celebrate, had cake, few interesting gifts.

Didn't go fishing this year.

Ah well

Well every year in October... I open this as per tradition on the first week of October I'd have this journal. Veteran watchers will know what it is about.

Anyone who I also watch on FA/DA that gives me a birthday gift on my birthday will automatically be entered into a list at the end of the month and get one from me back on their birthday.

(note that this rule on "people I watch" to be automatically entered was in place due to people abusing the system when I had it set to everyone ): )

If you wish to take part in the 2021-2022 birthday trades, but I don't watch you on FA or DA, leave a comment here and I'd reply to it if I'd be willing or not.

It's basically if you do me a picture on my birthday I'd do one back for you on yours that matches yours.

Note that I'd accept artwork and literature (stories). You also do not have to be the one actually drawing it (i.e. if you commissioned another artist for it It's fine)

This list is combined with that on DA. only one per person.

Aka midautumn festival.

It's today, 21st sept 2011

the day where you eat mooncakes and stare at the full moon.

Though it does give me memories of when I used to be a student in Australia.

Everytime on this festival, the bunch of us international students... and any of the local students who happened to wander past... would gather around with mooncakes (or whatever passes for it) and green tea and sit around the lawn to stare at the moon....

Someone would always happen to buy a durian mooncake from somewhere and we always have fun letting our local Australian friends try it. The responses ranged from "Onion custard" to "Delicious"

Then I'd typically continue a old story "tradition" of telling the story of Chang Er, the lady on the moon..... that was handed down from the time when I was part of the speech and drama society when I was in secondary school....

.. and the teacher told us to go tell the story of Chang Er to the class... so told a story we did.

So this year I'd share it with all of you since I do miss telling that story to people in my old student gatherings... and there's nobody outside my family visiting this year..

So here it goes.

There was once a lady who was obcessed with loosing weight, so she prayed to the gods for help.

So the god of slimming answered the call, and gave her a bottle of MAGIC WEIGHT LOSS pills, telling her to only eat a single pill a day to loose weight.

So she did and ate a pill

Then she weighed herself and found she immediately lost 1kg

so she was so impressed and imatient that she downed the entire bottle and then her weight became negative and then she FLOATED OFF to the moon.

And then one of the pills did fall out from the bottle while she was downing it and her pet rabbit ate it and floated to the moon with her

where she now stays...

... together with some strange guy who's trying to chop down a tree that keeps growing back each time he goes take a break.
